st. Lucia- Friday

Friday was all about recovery! We were all VERY tired after Thursday and just hung out and went to the nice Italian restaurant for dinner. Andrew and I even got to go to dinner by ourselves which was a big treat, but we were so stuffed from our pre dinner that we had with AUstin that we could barely enjoy our food!

St. Lucia- Thursday

Thursday was a jam packed day. We decided to go on a land and sea adventure because it allowed us to see a little of everything but it turned into a little too much for little Austin. We got back almost 2 hours late and he totally freaked out on the bus ride back. I felt so bad for him and everyone else on our bus! The day was great besides our napless boy! We saw the volcano, sulphur springs, Botanical Gardens and another waterfall.

There are many pics of the amazing flowers in the garden, Gram I think you'll love them!

We also got to do a little shopping in the capital, Castries and a quick bit of snorkling and swimming!

St. Lucia- Wednesday

We did water aerobics most mornings and wednesday was no different. In the afternoon, the under 30's minus Austin went on a hike to an amazing waterfall. Michelle had a peace corps friend who hooked up us with some locals who lead the way. It was a tricky hike but the refreshing water at the end with the waterfall made it all worth it. There were all sorts of fresh fruit farms along the way and we saw bananas, grapefruit, guava, mango trees and of course tons of coconuts! There were also little pepper plants.

st. Lucia- Tuesday

On Tuesday, we did the usual in the morning, but then in the late afternoon the group (minus Greggy and Uncle Tom) headed into a small town to see the sunset. It ended up not being exactly what we thought and we headed back early. St. Lucia is in a major drought so many stores are closed because there isn't water anywhere (except major hotels, so we weren't affected). We missed out on the local fried chicken and bakes we were looking forward to.

St. Lucia- Monday

Monday was another day of hanging out at the hotel.

Lots of smoothies, eating, sun and waterslides!

We also took a walk down a very bumpy, busy, FAST road where yelling TRANSPORT is the only way to avoid being hit by a bus! We headed to Sandy beach where the windy was gusty and the waves bigger... A little body surfing for most of us!

Sunday was Valentine's Day and what better way to spend it then with those you love. The Garavaglia's were all together and enjoying the awesome beauty of St. Lucia. Sunday was a day of beach and pool and then we went to dinner and the fancy Asian resturant at our hotel.

St. Lucia- Saturday

We left bright and early on Saturday morning, yes left the house at 3.30am! We flew to Charlotte and then to St. Lucia. Austin did pretty well on the flight considering how early we tore him out of bed and the second leg of the flight was 4.5 hours!

We got to St. Lucia around 4pm and were greeted with 85 degree weather and drinks at the hotel!
