sleepy head

God has blessed me with the best sleeping baby ever!  It is now after 8am and I am waiting for Austin to wake up.  Something is wrong with this picture.  I should still be in bed, but I thought he was waking up an hour ago, so i got up, got ready, made coffee, checked my email, pumped, cleaned up a bit and i am STILL waiting.  HAHA!  I guess he is comfy in his crib...

I guess my own selfish reasons for him getting up are just so my boobs don't explode- and we have to get to Mom's group at 930am, i guess i might just have to wrap him up and take him sleeping.

On the Austin front, he is still doing great, chunky as ever and really smiling a ton.

Last night he was dozing downstairs, so I put him in his crib and he just started laughing and I thought "OK, maybe he isn't going to go to bed" so I let him laugh, got ready for bed and when i went to check on him, he was out.

It was so cute that he literally smiled and laughed himself to sleep.  Much better than crying huh?

Burrito Man

My little burrito man all swaddled up and ready for bed...

fillings

Yesterday, I had THREE cavities filled!!! yuck...time to start flossing better huh?  I really dread the dentist, but it wasnt that bad at all, except that I was SO hungry after and was told only soft foods for the rest of the day.

The bad part was I had to fast after 830pm for a study I was doing in the morning, so by 10am Tuesday I was ready to eat anything in sight.  The Peanut butter and cracker they gave me after my blood draw was the BEST ever!

Speaking of this study...if you are interested in being in studies, you should check out  www.umengage.com

You can sign up to help research studies and you usually get paid.  Yesterday i made 30.00 just for giving a little blood and blowing into a chilled breathing tube for 7 minutes.  They also had to weigh be and take my height to make sure I was in the "normal BMI" range.  Good news is that I am down to pre-prego weight, bad news is why all those jeans dont seem to fit!

They have all sorts of studies for different diseases, but I am always the "healthy subject" that they compare to.  Its kind of fun and I like knowing that I might be helping someone be cured someday!

Trunk or Treat

My Parents and I took Austin to "Trunk or Treat" in Warren where people set up in a parking structure and pass candy out of their trunks. We really just wanted to see what it was all about, so we ventured out. When we got there the line was wrapped around the building and doubled back, but somehow Mom schmoozed with a politician and he got us in the out and we got to walk around. It was a lot of fun and we got to see Mr. Giant Frosty Man.

Austin wants to say Hi

My future best friend (he doesn't know it yet) bought me this outfit.  Actually his mom probably did, but you know what I mean.
This is me after shower time.  Why is mom always trying to take my picture?  I made her delete the one when i was naked!

Another photo shoot...I am just trying to watch the game and she is standing right in front of the TV.

I miss everyone
Love, Austin

Mother Warriors

I just finished Mother Warriors...Very interesting.  I strongly believe in the importance of vaccinations, but there is no denying the stories of these "warriors" in the book.  Parents that fought for their children and would not give up until they won them back from the tight hold of autism.  It is a bit nerve raking as a new parent, all the decisions...I think i need to read a pro vaccination book now, just to balance things out.  Whatever your opinion may be, I highly recommend this book.

Uncle Ed and Aunt Ada

Drew took Austin to meet Uncle Ed and Aunt Ada last night while I was out with the girls.  They were so excited to finally meet the little guy.

Speaking of girls night, I was able to go out with some of my friends from work last night to the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase.  We saw MaryEllen Hooper last night and she was hilarious.  Completely clean humor that kept us laughing the whole time.  You never really know what you are going to get when you go there, so it was a pleasant surprise.  Check out her website
www.maryellenhooper.com  I would HIGHLY recommended a good girl's night if you can catch her when she is in town  (i think she lives in FL).

Shots

Today we took Austin for his two month appt. with Dr. Brenner, who we love.  She was great with him and gave him a "looking good" so thats great news.  He weighed in at a whopping 16lb 2oz (97th percentile)!  and was 24inches (50th percentile).  He also got his first shots (minus the one in the hospital).  There were 4 shots and one oral vaccine which he enjoyed thoroughly.  He was a tough guy with the help of dad and was only upset for a little while.  The nurse was done with the shots before he even figured out he had been poked.  After we calmed down he snoozed for a few so we tried to go to my work to see everyone.  That was a mistake at first, as soon as we woke up he screamed bloody murder for about 5 minutes, but then settled down for a few to enjoy the visit.  Once we got home, he finally ate (which was part of the screaming because he was so hungry) and is currently napping the pain away.   What a day for the little man.

Two cartoon band-aids to show off.

Fall Time

This was an attempted photo shoot at Grandma Jo's.  She had this little harvest time all set up and forgot her grandson is only 8 weeks old.  This photo is just before grandma let Austin topple over into the Mums!
Grandma trying to make Austin feel better after the Mum incident.
Grandpa Greg bought this pumpkin for Austin at the Cider Mill
Very sick of the photo shoots already!
