NY State Museum

Friday we took a little tour of the city including the State capital and New York State Museum.  The museum was incredible... too much to take in during our short time there, but here are a few highlights.  This is the Sesame Street scene from the show.
An old rail cart from the "old days"

They had a beautiful 9-11 tribute.  Below is a fire truck destroyed in the disaster.

This is one of the oldest carousal's around.  Built in 18 something (sorry i don't remember the details)
Later that evening we went to dinner at El Mariachi and had great Mexican food.  We had the kids with us and then dropped them off at Jesse's for our double date.  This was the first time leaving Austin (besides the nursery at my parents church).  I felt a little bad since i know how cranky he gets at night, but we did it anyway.  We went to see Burn after reading, great movie. We then had more ice cream after ( i am seeing a theme here...) Not just any ice cream though... Drew had a waffle cone covered in rice krispie treats, very unique.  Austin was pretty fussy while we were gone and I am sure the sitter was very happy to see us home.
